WE50: Top 50 Women in Engineering: nominate your outstanding young women engineers, 11 April 2017
Deadline for entries: 12 May 2017
On 23 June 2017, International Women in Engineering Day, created by the Women’s Engineering Society (WES), celebrates the achievements of women across all engineering sectors, but they need your help in finding the next generation of leaders.
Through WES’s partnership with The Daily Telegraph, they are seeking your nominations for women in engineering under 35 across the UK whose achievements and talents may not yet be fully recognised.
WES welcomes nominations not just from qualified engineers in any discipline, but also teachers, lecturers, project and programme managers. Ideally, they are looking for women who have overcome adversity, who may have created something innovative or undertaken something exceptional.
While many businesses and organisations support the goal of increasing diversity in the sector, the fact remains that just 9 per cent of our engineers are women. By placing the spotlight on these outstanding younger female achievers, we hope to increase that number.
All nominations will be presented to a judging panel from WES, and the top 50 will be revealed later this year, coinciding with International Women in Engineering Day (www.inwed.org.uk) on 23 June.
