BCSWomen Lovelace Colloquium 2017, 10 May 2017

The 10th BCSWomen Lovelace Colloquium was held on April 12th, at Aberystwyth University. Around 200 attendees enjoyed a day of inspiring talks, fascinating student posters, careers advice, employers fair, lots of networking and lots of cake. There was a pre-event social and hackathon on April 11th. Sponsors include: Google, Scott Logic, GE, Bloomberg, JP Morgan, Amazon, ThoughtWorks, and BCS.
The core of the event is the student poster competition, allowing female computer scientists from all over the country to share their ideas, network with each other, and also potential employers. Great speakers inspired the students: Dr Sue Black OBE, Carrie Anne Philbin of Raspberry Pi, Milka Horozova of Google, Christine Zarges of Aberystwyth Computer Science. Lovelace is organised by Hannah Dee, Aberystwyth Computer Science (and it was her idea, 10 years ago). See Hannah Dee’s blog for details and photos: http://www.hannahdee.eu/blog/
